Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Backend Automation Engineer with deep expertise in mainframe automation and CLI-based validation to join our enterprise-grade QA team.

This role supports Client's digital transformation by designing, implementing, and maintaining backend and mainframe validation automation.

The focus is on batch job execution, business rule validation, and ensuring data integrity across core banking systems.

Key Responsibilities

Automation Development & Execution

• Develop and maintain backend automation scripts using IBM HATS CLI and custom wrappers for mainframe validation.
• Build reusable libraries for secure shell (SSH) access and CLI-based interaction with systems of record (SOR), domains, and read stores.
• Integrate backend validation into the Robot Framework using metadata-driven execution models (YAML/JSON).
• Automate batch job output validation and business rule execution across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to integrate backend test suites into Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, and Azure Dev Ops pipelines.
• Ensure test execution aligns with CI/CD triggers and supports both end-to-end and layer-specific flows.

• Implement tagging, traceability, and audit logging to meet SOX, PCI, and FFIEC compliance standards.
• Work with compliance teams to ensure traceability from test cases to defects and requirements.
• Validate backend data flows using structured test data and synthetic fallback pools.
• Manage automated test data provisioning, reservation, and cleanup processes.
• Participate in cross-vendor meetings, QA Center of Excellence (CoE) reviews, and scorecard evaluations.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to framework enhancements and standardization.

• 5+ years of experience in backend or mainframe automation.
• Hands-on experience with IBM HATS CLI for mainframe automation.
• Proficiency in Java and scripting languages (Python, Shell) for CLI-based automation.
• Experience with Robot Framework and metadata-driven test suite generation using YAML/JSON.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Hub Actions, and Azure Dev Ops.
• Knowledge of test data management and synthetic data provisioning.
• Understanding of compliance frameworks such as SOX, PCI, and FFIEC, including audit traceability practices.

• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Allure and Report Portal.
• Understanding of cross-vendor execution models and RACI-based governance.
• Experience with Automation Anywhere (a plus, not required).
