As an AI Engineer at Candid Health, you’ll be empowered to bring Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning to the forefront of healthcare automation. This is an opportunity to get in at the ground floor of designing and building something exciting and new — generating immense value to both medical providers and their patients. You will be responsible for translating compelling initial prototypes into a foundational set of differentiated, high impact ML/AI use cases throughout our platform and across our customer base.

• Expansively own outcomes & apply AI to real problems: build AI features into Candid’s platform to deliver outcomes for both internal teams and external customers.
• Innovate and drive our technical AI strategy: identify and drive opportunities on when, where, and which AI/ML techniques can deliver business value, research industry best practices, and design systems to support scalable deployment.
• Scale and unlock new & existing products: partner with leadership and cross‑functional teams to automate and scale complex products and workflows, directly influencing our AI roadmap and product roadmap.
• Build AI infrastructure: architect infrastructure that supports AI across all product facets, structure data, and establish rigorous processes for model training, testing, and monitoring.

• Bachelors or Masters of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or another similar degree.
• 8+ years of experience building software of significant scale and complexity.
• 5+ years of AI engineering experience in a professional setting, preferably applying it to real‑world solutions.
• Experience building systems that leverage ML technologies (e.g., using specific NLP models) and familiarity with tools, frameworks, and libraries.
• Understanding of pros, cons, and tradeoffs of leveraging various AI solutions; ability to help make informed decisions between deterministic (ML) vs. non‑deterministic (LLM) approaches.
• Knowledge of the right architecture and patterns to build enduring, scalable solutions.
• Customer‑first and learner’s mindset; ability to teach others.
• Strong trade‑off decision‑making for project scope and quality.
• Clear and concise communication skills; ability to explain complicated ideas in simple terms.
• Experience with technologies such as Google Cloud Platform, Big Query, Postgre
  
  SQL, Metabase, Terraform, Python is a plus.
