A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC CLIENT:This client is a fast-growing fintech startup transforming the warehouse lending space within the banking industry. Warehouse lending supports roughly $2T in annual transaction volume across a highly concentrated market of ~150 banks. This company delivers the first modern, multi-tenant SaaS platform in a space long dominated by decades-old legacy technology and limited competition.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUTTHE ROLE AND DAY-TO-DAY:
The Vice President of Architecture serves as the ultimate authority over code and platform architecture, owning how systems are designed, structured, secured, and scaled across the company’s products. Day to day, this role defines and enforces architectural standards across frontend, backend, data, and cloud systems; partners closely with engineering, product, security, and QA, leads architectural reviews, and ensures the platform remains secure, resilient, and enterprise-ready.
The VP of Architecture actively prevents technical debt, guides system evolution, mentors senior engineers, and ensures the organization can scale safely while meeting the rigorous security and reliability expectations of large financial institutions.
- 12+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, platform design, and system architecture
- 5+ years in a senior architecture leadership role (VP, Principal Architect, or Head of Architecture) within high-growth environments
- Experience in financial services, Fin Tech, mortgage, or other regulated industries
- Deep expertise in distributed, modular, and secure system architecture with a focus on scalability and long-term maintainability
- Strong hands-on experience with Angular, Node.js, Java, Dynamo
DB, and Graph
QL-based systems - Ability to set and enforce architectural standards while enabling delivery speed
- Effective influencer and communicator with engineers, executives, and enterprise stakeholders
- High standards for quality, performance, and architectural discipline; leads by example in code and design reviews
This role is fully remote, but the company is seeking someone who is based in Denver to support local collaboration and occasional in-person meetings.
SALARY / DURATION:Salary Target for this role is $180,000 - $200,000, depending on location, seniority, and experience.
