Job Summary
This position provides architectural leadership and governance across multiple concurrent projects within a dynamic Geospatial and Asset Data Group supporting over 3,000 users. The role focuses on solution evaluation, integration, and implementation while ensuring technology solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and operational support models. Working in close partnership with project managers, system integrators, vendors, and business stakeholders, this position delivers high-quality, scalable solutions that meet both business objectives and technical requirements.
Reporting to a Group Architect, this role offers the opportunity to shape the technical direction of critical enterprise initiatives while collaborating with architects and delivery teams across the organization.
- Develop high-level and detailed technical designs that meet business and non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, reliability, and security
- Provide architecture governance to ensure compliance with enterprise standards, processes, and best practices
- Create and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation and design artifacts
- Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of solution implementation, including application, database, security, and infrastructure components
- Ensure solutions are production‑ready, low‑risk, and seamlessly integrated into operational support models
- Participate in full Software Development Lifecycle activities from planning through deployment
- Evaluate vendor technologies through RFP participation, demonstrations, and scenario‑based assessments
- Select, integrate, and validate vendor solutions within the enterprise environment
- Partner with system integrators and vendors to ensure successful delivery and alignment with architectural expectations
- Perform reliability, performance, and scalability assessments for proposed and existing solutions
- Ensure regulatory, security, and compliance requirements are met for all solutions
- Identify opportunities for solution and operational improvements through innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with project managers, program managers, architects, technical teams, and business stakeholders across multiple projects
- Communicate architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Support cross‑functional teams while managing multiple projects and competing priorities
- Strong architectural design capabilities for end‑to‑end enterprise technical solutions
- Expertise in GIS platforms, including Small world and ESRI
- Proficiency with technical solution stacks such as MEAN, LAMP, or Microsoft .NET
- Advanced knowledge of relational databases including SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL
- Understanding of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or FEAF
- Solution integration experience across complex enterprise environments
- Excellent communication skills with ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities
- Collaborative mindset with cross‑functional team experience
- Continuous learning orientation and adaptability to new technologies
- Results‑driven approach with demonstrated ownership and accountability
- 6+ years of overall IT experience in a distributed enterprise environment
- 3+ years architecting end‑to‑end enterprise technical solutions
- 3+ years delivering enterprise solutions aligned to business objectives
- Solid experience delivering solutions across the full Software Development Lifecycle
- Experience with solution integration in established enterprise environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
