Overview
ADC Manager, ADC Monitoring & Observability — Denver, CO. Lead the AWS Monitoring & Observability team, focusing on operational excellence, Dev-Ops culture, and building and operating large-scale distributed systems to support mission-critical cloud computing infrastructure.
Key responsibilities- Hire, motivate, mentor and develop a team of engineers, promoting growth and opportunity
- Define the structure and strategy for the team, determining the right mix of engineers and where they should be allocated to meet business goals
- Establish a roadmap and deliver engineering solutions that realize the vision; participate in yearly planning
- Provide the team with end-to-end responsibility for systems (design, code quality, system health)
- Develop senior engineers, expanding scope, impact, and leadership
- Work cross-functionally to foster constructive dialogue, harmonize views, and resolve contentious issues
- Operate with a data-driven approach, using metrics to identify gaps and improve processes locally and globally

Security and eligibilityThis position requires that the selected candidate currently possesses and maintains an active TS/SCI security clearance and obtain/maintain an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which AWS work is performed.
Basic qualifications- Associate's degree, or Cloud+ or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
- 7+ years of relevant hands-on systems engineering and administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems
- 3+ years as the systems engineering and operations leader for an Internet service or leading-edge IT organization in a 24x7 environment
- 3+ years managing teams of 5 or more engineers
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI
- Proven track record of leading and growing engineering teams with mentorship capabilities
- Track record of driving technical strategy and operational excellence in complex systems
- Experience managing development life cycles, resource planning, and cross-functional projects
- Strong technical background with distributed systems and enterprise architecture
- Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with ability to influence at all levels
