POSITION TITLE :
Business Intelligence Developer II

COMPENSATION :
Pursuant to Colorado regulations if this job is performed in Colorado the salary range is $95000 - $105000 plus bonus potential. Eligible to participate in the company benefits plan. Business Intelligence Cloud Architect

SUMMARY :
The Business Intelligence Developer II is responsible for designing developing and implementing BI solutions that support Cardinals end-to-end BI and Analytics ecosystem. The BI Developer II will partner with the BI Architect and key business stakeholders to design implement and optimize data models and reporting structures within Cardinals EDW gather and translate business and technical requirements and help govern Cardinals back-end data platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Included but not limited to)

  • Design build and optimize technical solutions that meet business needs by delivering data in an efficient scalable and durable manner within Cardinals EDW.
  • Lead data modeling efforts through requirements gathering process documentation and data discovery efforts.
  • Design and implement advanced data models in SQL including :
  • Table definitions
  • Complex procedure builds
  • Advanced function development
  • Optimized view definitions
  • Perform and present complex ad-hoc analyses of relevant business processes.
  • Provide front-end support in our Business Intelligence tool including dashboard maintenance managing ETL data flows and occasionally designing and building new reports.
  • Proactively diagnose debug and resolve inaccuracies and inconsistencies within deployed database objects.
  • Establish document and champion standard operating procedures and warehousing standards.
  • Own and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
  • Optimize and monitor daily database operations including diagnosing and resolving inefficiencies and instabilities.
  • Enforce and improve a governed data environment through the application of warehousing standards best practices and established conventions as defined with the BI Architect.
  • Serve as a key technical liaison to business stakeholders managing support needs and translating feature requests into technical solutions.
  • Mentor Junior Developers through code reviews technical guidance and best-practice enforcement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of relevant data experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in relevant areas of study or equivalent professional experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in SQL development including table definitions procedure function development and view definitions.
  • Demonstrated experience applying database modeling patterns (First Second and Third Normal Form Dimensional Modeling or Data Vault).
  • Experience in public cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure
  • Proficiency with open-source database management systems such as Postgre

    SQL .
  • Expertise in designing and implementing ETL / ELT solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage daily tasks against established priorities to meet commitments.
  • Strong attention to detail in ensuring data quality.
  • Strong commitment to continue to learn build skills and mentor others.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills required to interact with colleagues clients and senior leadership.
  • Ability to develop productive business relationships with internal team members through cooperation courtesy and professionalism.
  • Excellent at troubleshooting complex issues.

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Intermediate-level experience in SQL Development and all aspects of SDLC with Source Code Control Git Hub and Code Reviews.
  • Proven ability to develop debug and optimize complex SQL queries Stored Procedures and Functions particularly in cloud data warehouses such as Big Query Snowflake or Redshift .
  • Proficiency in relational database engines such as Postgre
