Base pay range$96,990.00/yr - $/yr
Shift Pattern- 4 x 10-hour shifts (NOC operates 24x7x365)
- 10-hour shifts, 4 days on / 3 days off
- Position 1: 12:00-22:00 UTC (06:00-16:00 MST)
- Position 2 Swing: 22:00-08:00 UTC (14:00-02:00 MST)
- Start in office, then remote after settling in
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lv2 Subsea NOC Engineer to join our Denver-based Network Operations Center (NOC). This dynamic role involves maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting subsea and terrestrial cable networks to ensure reliability and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct proactive data analysis using network monitoring tools and trend evaluation to identify and mitigate potential faults.
- Respond to network alarms and notifications, prioritizing tasks based on impact and severity.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in terrestrial and subsea DWDM transmission systems using performance monitoring data and test equipment; elevate when necessary.
- Collaborate with Principal Engineers, field service teams, vendors, and third parties to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Validate post-repair system performance to confirm successful resolution.
- Manage repair coordination, spare parts inventory, and RMA replacements.
- Maintain accurate trouble tickets, ensuring clarity and completeness.
- Document case resolutions, root cause analyses, and technical actions to support knowledge sharing.
- Develop Method of Procedure (MoP) documentation for module replacement as required.
- Consistently exceed customer SLA expectations through effective issue management and service delivery.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment managing subsea and terrestrial optical transmission networks.
- Proven experience in Operations, Administration & Maintenance of complex terrestrial and submarine cable systems.
- Strong background in OA&M of terrestrial cable systems and networks, utilizing monitoring tools and testing equipment.
- Understanding of subsea repeaters, branching units, WSS ROADMs, equalisers, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Extensive optical network troubleshooting experience.
- Understanding of DCN networking and transmission equipment.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (Salesforce preferred) and workflow processes.
- Technical proficiency with routers, switches, firewalls, and network management systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Excellent communication, presentation skills, and commitment to high-quality customer service.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Multilingual capabilities (Spanish, French, or an Asian language) are an advantage.
- Extensive experience with DWDM optical transmission and Network Management Systems from vendors including Ciena, ASN, Sub Com, NEC, Extera, and Infinera.
- Proven experience in OA&M of both subsea and terrestrial network infrastructures.
- Extensive experience with ticketing systems;
Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Must have the legal right to work in the USA.
