Job Description:

  • Have an understanding of Fiber, Coax & Ethernet mediums
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting Internet/Intranet connectivity
  • Strong knowledge of Layer 2 network services including VTP, VLAN and STP protocols
  • Hands on experience utilizing routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP and MPLS
  • Understanding of relationship between switches, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network
  • Familiarity of Data Center fiber and copper cabling installation, patching, and Industry Standard best practices
  • Infrastructure experience with configuration, management, and troubleshooting switches, IDF's, wiring etc.
  • Experience with Terminal Services
  • Experience with wireless technologies, including 802.11a/b/g/n, WAP configuration, 802.1x, site surveys, monitoring, and fault isolation preferred (Cisco CAPWAP wireless experience)
  • IP address assignment-best practices
  • Understanding of DHCP & DNS services
  • Work to create and execute on MOPs
  • Able to create and maintain detailed network documentation
  • Knowledge of data protocols, IT architectures, networking standards and security best practices
  • Knowledge and experience with VoIP is a plus
  • Work outside of normal business hours when required (scheduled maintenance, outage response) and participates in on-call rotation.
  • Ability to lift 70+ lbs. carry, and/or otherwise move items weighing approximately 50 pounds; climb ladders, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
