Senior Director and Head of Data Science

About the Team

Vizio is looking for a Head of Data Science to manage mathematical modeling, experimentation, and analytics across the enterprise. We are looking for a dynamic leader to manage teams performing non-commoditized data work. The position can be held in one of several offices (Denver, Los Angeles, New York).

What You Will Do

• Lead the Data Science organization with vision and empathy.

• Work cross-functionally with product management, engineering, and business stakeholders.

• Manage teams that develop and write algorithms for use in production.

• Mentor senior team members.

• Strategically investigate emerging technologies and their applications.

• Evangelize Data Science across the organization.

• Use data to inform product strategy.

• Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About You

• Trained researcher with a doctorate in a quantitative field.

• 10+ years’ Data Science management experience.

• 5+ years’ experience managing managers.

• Fluent in Python and SQL.

• High sense of ownership and results driven.

• Technical knowledge of ad-tech and / or data licensing industries.

• Solid understanding of predictive analytics, mathematical modeling, and statistics (theory, algorithms, and application).

• Proficient with modern big data technologies and CI / CD frameworks.
