Position OverviewThe Consultant / Senior Tier 2 Engineer plays a critical role within PCG Systems, providing expert-level support, consulting, and project leadership. This candidate will be an authority on Networking, Microsoft Infrastructure, Azure Infrastructure, Fortinet hardware, and best practices security. They will also serve as a Technical Account Manager for key clients, a mentor to junior staff, and a technical advisor for strategic projects.
Looking for someone looking to grow into a Tier 3 role.
- Technical Expertise :

Architect, implement, and support advanced Networking solutions, including switching, routing, and wireless infrastructure. - b>
Manage and optimize Microsoft Infrastructure (AD, Group Policy, Exchange, and Hyper-V environments). - b>
Design and deploy Azure Infrastructure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid environments). - b>
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls and security appliances. - b>
Proactively monitor, assess, and enhance client security postures, including vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and incident response. - Technical Account Management :

Act as the primary technical advisor for assigned clients, ensuring their IT strategies align with business objectives. - b>
Conduct regular business reviews with clients, providing insights into system performance, potential risks, and improvement opportunities. - b>
Build strong relationships with client stakeholders, gaining a deep understanding of their business needs and goals. - b>
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution of client issues and proactive delivery of services. - Project Leadership :

Lead multi-phase client projects such as migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and advanced security deployments. - b>
Serve as a technical advisor to clients, helping align technology strategies with business goals. - b>
Coordinate with stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget. - Escalation Point :
- b>
Resolve Tier 2 escalations across all technical disciplines. - b>
Troubleshoot complex environments and root-cause critical system issues. - Mentorship & Collaboration :
- b>
Guide Tier 1 staff in troubleshooting and skill development. - b>
Collaborate with account managers to identify opportunities for enhanced client service.
Experience :
- Minimum 5+ years in an MSP.
- Proven experience managing enterprise-level Networking and Microsoft Infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud deployments and management.
- Advanced configuration and management of Fortinet appliances (firewalls, switches, and SD-WAN).
- Experience in Technical Account Management, with a proven ability to build client relationships and align IT with business objectives.
- Expert-level knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (TCP / IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF).
- Strong grasp of cybersecurity best practices (firewalls, SIEMs, MFA, EDR).
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Datto, or similar).
- Microsoft Certified :
Azure Solutions Architect Expert - Fortinet NSE 4 or higher
- Cisco CCNP or equivalent networking certification
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client interactions.
- Leadership ability with a passion for mentorship and team collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-paced environment.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and strategic planning.
