As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will help developers and the HCM Core Application Manager with analysis, configuration, testing, implementation, and troubleshooting of application issues within HCM.

Position Summary

University Information Services (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications to CU’s campuses and the Office of the President. The Senior Business Systems Analyst assists with functional design specifications, test plans, and customizations in HCM Core modules.

Location

Remote within Colorado.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Production support items.
  • Assist with system integrations within HCM Core.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze data and application issues.
  • Write functional design documents for customizations.
  • Write test plans, testing scripts, and/or test scenarios.
  • Gather business requirements for customizations.
  • Track and maintain all functional documents.
  • Complete regression testing for all customizations.
  • Provide leadership and customer service to campus customers and SMEs.
  • Conduct smoke testing for PUM/Selective Adoption and People Tools Upgrades.
  • Cover modules in the absence of the application manager.
  • Analyze Core HCM release notes and impact analysis.
  • Communicate release notes to the Core HCM community.
  • Assist with vendor management of the module.
  • Perform system analysis, program specification, systems development, and support during maintenance windows.
  • Expand expertise by attending technical classes, seminars, and end‑user groups.
  • Own new requests and explore opportunities to add value.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the Business Systems Analysts within the Core HCM Systems Team.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Higher Education community to share knowledge.
  • Ensure cross‑training of all business processes and functional setup across HCM Core.
  • Perform system analysis, program specification, systems development, and support during maintenance windows.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (experience may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis).
  • 4+ years of SQL experience using tools such as Toad or SQL Developer.
  • 4+ years of experienced testing software customizations.
  • 2+ years of experience with People Soft HCM 9.2.
  • 2+ years of experience within a People Soft application.
  • 2+ years of experience with People Soft upgrades and PUM/Selective adoption cycles.
  • 2+ years of understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Programming, or related area.
  • Experience using People Tools Testing Framework (PTF).
  • Experience using or assisting in UFT Testing Framework for automating core test scripts.
  • Experience with People Soft HCM Core from functional side to configuration of set‑up tables.
  • Experience with People Tools version 8.61+.
  • Knowledge of People Tools configuration (Approval Workflow Engine, Templates, Profile Management, Related Content).
  • Knowledge of higher education business processes.
