Overview

We are seeking a Senior VoIP Specialist to serve as a technical leader for large‑scale enterprise voice environments. This is a hands‑on role for a VoIP expert who thrives in complex telephony ecosystems and enjoys solving challenging problems, improving performance, and influencing the future direction of voice platforms.

You will work within a high‑availability environment supporting tens of thousands of endpoints, partnering closely with network and infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, call quality, and scalability. This role offers long‑term stability, meaningful technical ownership, and the opportunity to shape modern voice architecture within a highly respected, low‑turnover team.

What You’ll Do
  • Act as the subject matter expert for enterprise VoIP, SIP, and call center telephony systems
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts for complex voice and signaling issues
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize SIP trunks, call routing, codecs, and QoS policies
  • Support and enhance large‑scale Avaya environments (Communication Manager, Session Manager, SBC), including upgrades and future migrations
  • Collaborate with network, security, and infrastructure teams to maintain uptime and voice quality
  • Partner with telecom service providers to manage escalations, configuration changes, and performance optimization
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base resources
  • Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices and advanced troubleshooting
  • Contribute to roadmap planning and recommendations for new voice technologies and integrations
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive experience supporting or engineering enterprise VoIP/SIP environments
  • Deep understanding of SIP protocols, call flows, and signaling concepts
  • Hands‑on experience with Avaya platforms or comparable systems (e.g., Cisco, Asterisk, Microsoft Teams Phone)
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills using tools such as Wireshark, SIP debuggers, and VoIP analyzers
  • Strong knowledge of QoS, SIP trunking, codec negotiation, and NAT/firewall traversal
  • Experience supporting environments with 10,000+ endpoints
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting call center platforms or voice endpoint integrations
  • Exposure to cloud-based or hybrid VoIP architectures
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python, Power Shell, Bash)
  • Relevant certifications (Avaya, Cisco Collaboration, CompTIA Network+, or similar)
