Description

At Xe, we live currencies. Founded in 1993, Xe is a global leader in currency exchange and international money transfers. What began as a simple currency converter has grown into a platform trusted by over 300 million people each year. We provide a comprehensive range of currency services and products, including real-time exchange rates, a Currency Converter, Market Analysis and a Currency Data API, supporting 130+ currencies across 190+ countries with quick, easy, secure Money Transfers for individuals and businesses.

We leverage technology to deliver these services through our website, mobile app, and by phone. Backed by Euronet, we process more than $115 billion in global payments annually. Xe is profitable, product-led, and focused on building reliable, user-first tools that make moving money across borders easier for everyone.

At Xe, we value people who take initiative, think big, and follow through. We’re curious by nature and not afraid to ask what if or try something new. Everyone’s voice matters here. We expect people to speak up, bring ideas, and take ownership of their work. We don’t micromanage. We trust each other to make good calls, take responsibility, and move fast when it counts.

And we care about community. Not in a vague corporate way, but in the sense that we have each other’s backs, stay open to feedback, and build a culture of trust and real collaboration.

  • Ambition. We dream big, try things out, and always ask “why not?” and “what if?” We’re ambitious in our thinking and our delivery
  • Responsibility. We get involved, bring our perspective, and are always open to new ideas. We take personal responsibility
  • Community. We value a sense of belonging, trusting each other, and encouraging authenticity. We contribute to our community
The Role .

Ria is expanding into stablecoin rails as part of its next-generation cross-border payment infrastructure, including on-ramp and off-ramp services within the network. As Director of Compliance, Crypto, you will own this vertical end-to-end and be equally fluent in the crypto and traditional fiat financial worlds, moving fast, taking ownership, and building the compliance foundation as the business builds the product. This is a global role requiring strong knowledge of the US regulatory landscape alongside international frameworks.

This is a hands-on, builder role, not a policy-writing desk job. You’ll be the person the business turns to when it’s evaluating a new stablecoin product, a new partner, or a new rail — and you’ll be the one who decides what “doing it right” looks like, then makes it happen.

Your Mission
  • You will drive the strategy and roadmap for Ria’s stablecoin vertical, including stablecoin settlement and on ramp/off-ramp services within the network.
  • Advise Product, Tech, and Business teams on new stablecoin products and features from concept through launch, translating regulation into practical, product-ready requirements.
  • Advise on broader crypto asset trading and tokenized assets as the business explores these areas, providing forward-looking regulatory and risk perspective ahead of any future launch.
  • Identify and assess the financial crime risks specific to crypto and stable coins, including blockchain-based typologies, wallet risk, mixing/obfuscation, sanctioned addresses, and mule activity, and build the controls to manage them.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and ongoing calibration of crypto compliance tooling in partnership with Tech and Product.
  • Design and maintain the crypto AML/CTF and sanctions framework, including risk assessments, policies, procedures, and controls, aligned to relevant US and global standards.
  • Oversee…
