The Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the deployment of application and platform changes into production environments. This role focuses heavily on overnight maintenance windows, ensuring deployments are executed accurately, safe, and according to established release management processes. The Release Manager serves as the central point of coordination for release activities, working closely with development, QA, Platform Engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.

The position ensures all releases are properly scheduled, approved, validated, communicated, and successfully deployed with minimal business disruption. This role also supports continuous improvement initiatives through release analysis, risk management, lessons learned reviews, and process optimization.

• Plan, coordinate, and manage application and platform releases into production environments.
• Schedule and oversee deployment activities during maintenance windows.
• Ensure release content is validated, approved, and properly communicated prior to implementation.
• Coordinate release readiness activities including dependency reviews, risk assessments, and stakeholder alignment.
• Review deployment plans, implementation procedures, rollback strategies, and contingency plans.
• Serve as the central point of contact during production releases.
• Guide technical teams through deployment activities and monitor progress against approved release plans.
• Manage real-time communication during release execution and maintenance windows.
• Coordinate issue resolution efforts and escalation activities when deployment challenges arise.
