KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate, KPMG Law Staffing to join our practice in Denver, CO.
Responsibilities- Play a pivotal role in the delivery of large‑scale multidisciplinary and multijurisdictional projects focused on providing high‑quality legal services to clients efficiently at scale and with a focus on technology.
- Embrace learning about adjacent service offerings to existing KPMG tax and advisory practices and technologies to be implemented as part of KPMG Law’s delivery model.
- Collaborate with diverse teams of professionals at various levels of experience in different subject‑matter areas and from different geographies.
- Leverage KPMG technologies to draft, review, analyze, and advise clients on commercial and corporate law documents at scale; monitor developments in the legal and regulatory environment to ensure contracts remain compliant.
- Support legal managed‑services engagements, which may include high‑volume contract review and/or contract data extraction, contract lifecycle management, and claims support and management.
- Seek opportunities to contribute to the broader legal community.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG’s respectful and courteous work environment.
- Minimum of two years of recent experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and managing general commercial law contractual agreements and corporate law documents.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; licensed Juris Doctorate or LLM degree from an accredited college/university (active bar license).
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills and willingness to adopt new technologies such as AI and their application to various legal‑services use cases.
- Self‑starter with the ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage assignments in a team environment; comfortable working and collaborating with others in KPMG’s high‑performance culture.
- Understanding of general commercial contractual agreements and the key clauses typically found in these agreements, e.g., limitation of liability, indemnification, warranties, termination, and more.
- Experience in corporate governance and transactional matters; familiarity with key provisions commonly found in corporate agreements such as shareholder rights, board resolutions, fiduciary duties, voting thresholds, change of control, and confidentiality.
