Job Overview

The Senior Corporate Counsel will be part of the Commercial Contracting team within the legal department of DaVita. This role provides legal services to implement agreements between DaVita and third‑party vendors for technology, consulting and other products and xmm across the company’s lines of business and functional areas.

Nashville, TN;
El Segundo, CA; or Denver, CO (Denver is the preferred location).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal support and counsel in all matters related to supplier contracting, maintaining a deep understanding of the business, advising clients on legal risks, and assisting in development of creative solutions.
  • Review, redline and negotiate a high volume and broad range of supplier contracts, including master service agreements, procurement agreements, statementsূলক, consulting agreements, SaaS, software licensing and other IT‑related agreements.
  • Facilitate the coordination of literal input from subject‑matter experts, including Risk Management, Privacy, and IT, for procurement contracts.
  • Ensure contract terms and conditions align with business needs, DaVita’s key business terms and ánh standard legal provisions.
  • Provide valuable advice and counsel within the broader context of business and enterprise objectives to drive risk mitigation and negotiation strategies for key supplier relationships.
  • Independently manage and prioritize competing work streams to achieve timely results.

  • Continuously improve contracting processes, including creation and improvement of toolkits, playbooks and templates, and evaluate and implement contract automation technologies to improve efficiency and reduce deal cycle times eqlinter.
  • Translate legal ramifications of varied issues into plain English and succinctly articulate the risks.
  • Work collaboratively with cross‑functional groups and coordinate with other legal groups on regulatory, risk, compliance and operational issues.
  • Actively participate in team and organization meetings, events and initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of commercial contracting experience in an attorney role; in-house experience preferred.
  • Law degree from an ABA‑accredited law school and State Bar admission in good standing.
  • Ability to qualify as a Single Client Attorney if applicable.
  • Proven track record of working with diverse client groups and teams to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with an acute ability to listen and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Professional demeanor անում and ability to interact at executive level with persuasiveness and confidence.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities with shifting deadlines.
