The opportunity
Within EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution sub service line, Deal Management works on complex, high-profile global transactions across a broad portfolio of clients and sectors. We are a team of experienced professionals with a background in operations who provide a wealth of sector and functional knowledge. We prepare and execute separation and integration plans, identify value‑enhancement ideas, and advise on risk mitigation and the successful change of operations, functions, and people.
YourKey Responsibilities
As a Director with EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution Deal Management practice, you will be a vital member of the team, managing and executing operationally focused projects. You will execute and manage projects across sectors, supporting our client service team in developing and executing strategies for transactions. You will gain experience across a range of engagements, including pre-deal (e.g., operational and carve-out planning) and post-deal (e.g., integration planning, tracking).
A commercial mind-set is key to this consulting role.
- Project Management – be part of project teams comprising colleagues from across the EY-Parthenon sub service lines.
- Business and Commercially Driven – fast-paced environment with strong business acumen to drive client value.
- Business Development - assist in pursuits, including presentations and client meetings. Contribute to practice development initiatives.
- Learning - develop technical and personal skills through coaching and experiences.
- Building Relationships - establish strong working relationships with senior clients, including influence and support to key decision makers.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or Analytics and 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree with approximately 3 years of related work experience.
- MBA is preferred.
- Significant management consulting experience.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
- Experience in business integrations, divestitures, and/or carve-outs with quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Experience leading and managing in complex business environments.
- Ability to assess technology, operations, or manufacturing infrastructure in detail.
- Ability to synthesize approaches to complex integration/divestiture conflicts.
- Ability to prioritize effectively on projects and adapt quickly to new challenges.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships internally and externally.
- Willingness to travel and work beyond standard hours when necessary.
- A proven track record in mergers or acquisitions transactions.
- Experience in another large professional services organization.
- Established networking skills in a relevant industry.
