Summary
We are seeking a candidate for a key project leadership role leading project controls operations for a portfolio of Data Centers of strategic importance to Meta. The Project Controls Lead will act as technical subject matter expert overseeing cost controls and commercial deliverables across the area, responsible for managing invoicing, commitments, financial reporting, commercial management, and risk management across multiple projects.
Acting as a key partner to the Delivery team, Construction Management team, and Schedule Lead, this role ensures that Project Controls delivers accurate, timely, and actionable insights to drive successful capacity delivery. Proven track record of success in leadership, communication, and organizational skills are important in this highly collaborative, analytical, and strategic role. This position will work closely within the DEC (Design, Engineering and Construction), Business Controls team, and various internal departments, including Site Project Management teams, Pre-Construction, Contracts, Finance, Accounting, Sourcing and Operations Engineering.
Required Skills
Serve as the accountable technical lead for Cost Controls across projects, ensuring end-to-end ownership of budget management, forecasting, change management diligence, invoice review, accruals, and risk facilitationEstablish, implement, and maintain the overall project controls strategy and operations for the projects, ensuring consistent processes, standards, and execution across all project controls functionsDeliver clear, accurate, and timely communication of project controls health (financial, change, risk) to project and DEC leadership, providing actionable insightsProvide analytical support to the Preconstruction team in review of General Contractor contracts and commercial terms, gathering of historical data, incorporation of master contract terms, alignment with finalized internal budgets, and ensuring that early risks are transparently transitioned to the Delivery teamProactively collaborate with the Schedule Lead, Delivery Team, and XFN partners for early detection and escalation of risks that may affect capacity delivery. Align on mitigation strategies, and drive those opportunities into resolutionProvide support to Areas cost forecasts, cash flow risks, and monthly/quarterly/annual variances, ensuring deliverables meet the high standard for communication to Site Leadership and Strategic Planning & Analytics partnersAlign cost and schedule controls by working directly with the Schedule Lead, ensuring integrated reporting of overall project health and risk exposureLead and develop a team of contingent works, driving accountability for consistent, high quality project controls deliverablesApproximately 25-50% travel to other Data Center sites and Company HeadquartersMinimum Qualifications 10+ years of Construction Project Controls experienceBachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Equivalent Field or related field experienceSubject Matter Expert in Cost management, construction change orders, and risk managementExperience in Earned Value Management or collection and analysis of resource dataExperience in Data Center, Manufacturing, or Construction Programs requiring complicated commissioning specificationsDemonstrated analytical, communication, problem solving, prioritization, organization, and reporting skillsExperience negotiating construction changes or complex construction claimsPreferred Qualifications Experience leading a team of project controls professionalsExperience leading complex project or program controls amongst a large group of internal and external stakeholdersSuccessful development and implementation of project controls strategies in a large organizationExperience developing and driving actions or operational adjustments based on project controls performance metricsProficient in Oracle UnifierPublic Compensation
$150,000/year to $209,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
