The OrganizationA well-established, publicly traded organization is seeking an experienced Vice President of Communications to join its leadership team during a period of meaningful transition and growth. This role reports to the EVP of External & Government Affairs and will play a critical role in shaping and advancing the company’s communications strategy.
The PositionThe Vice President of Communications will lead and evolve the organization’s external communications function, with strong integration across internal stakeholders. This leader will oversee comprehensive communication strategies that support business priorities, reputation management, and long-term growth. Key areas of focus include public relations, investor communications, executive visibility, and strategic messaging, with an emphasis on ensuring clarity, consistency, and credibility across all external audiences.
Responsibilities- Lead enterprise-wide external communications strategy aligned with company growth and transformation initiatives
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on communications, reputation, and stakeholder management engagement
- Oversee public relations and investor communications efforts, including narrative development and message discipline
- Lead and develop a high-performing communications team
- Balance strategic vision with hands‑on execution, ensuring excellence in both planning and delivery
- Partner closely with internal teams to ensure alignment between external messaging and internal communications
- 15–20 years of progressive communications leadership experience
- Strong background in external communications, with depth in Public Relations and Investor Relations
- Experience with in a large, complex, publicly traded organization (billion-dollar+ revenue preferred)
- Proven people leader with experience building and guiding teams
- Demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic and detailed level
- Experience supporting organizations through change, transformation, or accelerated growth
- Salary 200-300k
