Senior Managing Director – Farmers Insurance

This position partners with leadership to develop and oversee the strategic direction for an assigned geographic area, leading direct managers and their staff to achieve business and financial results, including sales growth, market share increase, and profitability.
Essential Job Functions- Achieve territory and company objectives for markets within assigned geographic area, including markets with regulatory challenges.
- Utilize exceptional communication, influence, and leadership to establish and drive strategic direction through direct managers.
- Apply advanced strategic and critical thinking to overcome unique exposures and profitability challenges.
- Use industry knowledge to develop and propose sales and initiatives to support market strategies.
- Manage footprint by planning and overseeing market presence and agency operations.
- Devise and oversee market segmentation strategies to gain competitive advantage.
- Drive business and financial goals within assigned geographic area.
- Exhibit influence while coaching and training direct managers.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and partner with stakeholders, including legal/regulatory agencies, to resolve escalated issues.
- Foster communication between company, district managers, and agency owners.
- Understand district and agent needs, develop long‑term partnerships, and apply change management strategies.
- Partner with territory, senior leadership, and district managers to appoint the right number of agents to achieve goals.
- Use technology to evaluate performance metrics and assess effectiveness of strategic direction.
- Set performance targets aligned with company goals.
- Develop action plans to address areas requiring attention or adjustment.
- Use data and analytical storytelling to prepare and report findings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Insurance designations preferred (CLU, ChFC, FSCP, CPCU).
- Minimum ten years of Property & Casualty Insurance sales experience, with knowledge of products and field distribution models.
- Experience owning onboarding of new agency owners and staff preferred.
- Series 6, 63, and 26 licenses required.
This role involves sitting or standing for normal work shifts, occasional overhead reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds, operating a computer for extended periods, and continuous use of hands and arms. The work setting may be virtual or in an office.

Albany County $173,440‑$238,480; WA $162,640‑$289,875. - Bonus opportunity based on individual and company performance.
