Position OverviewPlace Services Inc. (PSI) is looking for a Field Operations Manager for our Western Region. The Field Operations Manager leads and optimizes field operations across multiple commercial construction projects within the West Region GC Division. This strategic leadership role ensures job sites operate efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards and client expectations. The Field Operations Manager will collaborate closely with superintendents, project managers, and executive leadership to drive performance, resolve challenges, and ensure successful project delivery while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Responsibilities- Operational Oversight Supervise and support superintendents and field teams across active job sites. Ensure consistent implementation of construction processes, safety protocols, and quality standards. Monitor project progress and proactively address delays or operational issues. Maintain adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality benchmarks. Manage superintendent and field staff schedules to ensure full supervision coverage across all current and upcoming projects.
- Strategic Planning & Execution Partner with leadership to develop field operations strategies and resource allocation plans. Contribute to preconstruction planning, including staffing, logistics, and site mobilization. Drive continuous improvement through implementation of best practices.
- Team Leadership & Development Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor superintendents and field personnel. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration. Lead regular site meetings and safety briefings. Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and development support.
- Safety & Compliance Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies across all job sites. Conduct routine site visits and audits to assess safety and operational performance. Oversee accurate documentation of safety audits, incident reports, and corrective actions. Lead investigations and develop action plans for safety incidents.
- Quality Control Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with project specifications. Proactively identify and resolve field-related issues. Ensure timely coordination of inspections and punch list completion.
- Communication & Coordination Act as the primary point of contact for field operations. Serve as a liaison between superintendents, project managers, and executive leadership. Facilitate coordination among trades, subcontractors, and vendors. Represent field operations in client meetings and project reviews. Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, and vendors. Collaborate with project managers to align field and office operations.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial construction, with proven field leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and teams concurrently.
- Deep understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and scheduling.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Fieldwire, Bluebeam, MS Project).
- OSHA 30 certification required; additional safety credentials preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the Western US.
- Occasionally fill in for Superintendents during leave, PTO, relief, etc.
