Public Outreach is hiring passionate, outgoing people to join our Denver fundraising team and represent leading nonprofit organizations working to protect civil rights and create meaningful social change.
No fundraising experience is required.
We’ll teach you how to fundraise. We’re looking for people who already care.
WHAT YOU'LL DOThis is face-to-face fundraising.
You’ll work alongside a team in public spaces throughout the Denver area, starting conversations about important civil-rights and social-impact campaigns.
You’ll:
Approach and speak with people from all walks of life
Talk about civil rights, equality, and social justice
Explain important issues in a clear, human way
Share how nonprofit organizations are working to protect people’s rights
Inspire people to take action by becoming monthly donors
Work toward individual and team fundraising goals
Receive regular coaching and support from experienced leaders
This isn’t petitioning or volunteer work.
You’ll be asking people directly to financially support nonprofit organizations through monthly donations.
THE ISSUES YOU MAY WORK ONDepending on your campaign, your conversations may involve:
Civil rights and civil liberties
Racial justice and equality
LGBTQ+ rights
Reproductive freedom
Voting rights
Immigrant and refugee rights
Freedom of speech and expression
Privacy and individual freedoms
Protecting people from discrimination
Other human-rights and social-justice issues
Campaign assignments can change over time, but the purpose remains similar - helping nonprofit organizations build the public support they need to continue their work.
YOU DON’T NEED TO BE AN EXPERTYou don’t need a nonprofit background.
You don’t need a political science degree.
And you definitely don’t need to know everything about every issue.
We’ll provide paid training on the campaign you’re representing and teach you how to fundraise.
We’re looking for people who:
Care about civil rights, equality, or social justice
Pay attention to what’s happening in their communities and the world
Enjoy meeting and talking with new people
Can communicate serious issues with empathy
Are open to feedback and coaching
Are motivated by goals
Want work connected to something meaningful
Experience in advocacy, volunteering, community organizing, theatre, hospitality, education, customer service, fundraising, canvassing, or sales can translate especially well - but isn’t required.
THE REALITY OF FUNDRAISINGCaring about the cause is important.
So is being comfortable asking people to support it.

Some people will stop and listen.
Some won’t.
You’ll hear "no" regularly.
You’ll need to reset, stay positive, and confidently start the next conversation.
We’ll provide paid training, regular coaching, and support from your team.
Your hourly wage is guaranteed. Your results still matter.
