PRN Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN) or II (RN) – Walk-in Crisis Center
Join the Mental Health Center of Denver as a PRN Psychiatric Nurse either as an LPN or an RN in our Walk-in Crisis Center. You will obtain, record, and communicate vital clinical information while providing essential services within a multidisciplinary team. This position requires current Colorado RN or LPN licensure.

New Hire Hourly Rate- Psychiatric Nurse I (LPN): $28.96 – $30.46/hr
- Psychiatric Nurse II (RN): $37.56 – $39.06/hr
- Provide psychological problem identification, crisis interventions, and similar services to assigned consumers.
- Provide limited case‑management services to consumers as needed.
- Assist consumers with psychological and social development and rehabilitation.
- Coordinate consumer's use of other Well Power programs and outside community resources.
- Coordinate medical care and intervention with other clinical staff and psychiatrist(s).
- Monitor consumer's vital signs.
- Administer medications, including intramuscular medications.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records consistent with Well Power standards.
- Participate in team/organization meetings, in‑services, and supervisory sessions as required.
- Maintain a trauma‑informed environment of wellbeing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
LicensureLicensed as a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in good standing with the Board of Nursing of the State of Colorado.
Experience1–3 years of experience working with consumers with a serious and persistent mental illness (preferred).
Skills and Competencies- Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma‑informed principles and practices.
- Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy and community resources.
- Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
- Familiarity with the DSM‑IV and diagnostic techniques.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours which may be required.
TB screening and testing must be completed prior to hire (preplacement) and maintained during employment.
