Job Type: Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level

Hiring Freeze: This position will not be filled until January 1, 2026, unless a hiring freeze waiver/exemption is approved.
Job OverviewThe Nurse Supervisor oversees skilled nursing care for incarcerated offenders in various settings including outpatient clinic, infirmary, and specialized cell house. The role includes shift supervision, patient education, safety, payroll responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with policies.
Responsibilities- Document patient information accurately, both handwritten and electronically.
- Deliver patient education and self‑care instruction.
- Provide individualized patient care in clinic, infirmary, or cell house settings.
- Perform routine and emergency physical and emotional assessments.
- Ensure safety and security of the clinical environment, including contraband control.
- Administer payroll, scheduling, and performance management for nursing staff.
- Coordinate staff orientation, unit routines, assist in hiring, and participate in promotions.
- Serve as on‑call supervisor, arranging coverage and approving overtime.
- Current, valid Registered Nurse license from the Colorado Board of Nursing or a state participating in the eNLC.
- Three (3) years of full‑time patient care experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to maintain required licensure and credentials.
- Effective supervisory skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication.
- Problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities.
- Ability to manage stressful, high‑stakes situations.
- Strong sense of responsibility and safe practice.
- Fluency in English reading, writing, and speaking.
- One year or more of nursing supervisory experience.
- Experience as a Registered Nurse in a correctional environment.
