The Forensic Nurse Coordinator (FNE)met all qualifications required for clinical practice and oversees the daily operations of the FNE program to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational goals. This role ensures that care delivery is culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and tailored to each patient’s needs. The coordinator collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to maintain smooth and effective program functioning.

Saint Joseph Hospital - Additional Details: Previous sexual assault nurse examiner / forensic nurse examiner experience required.
1. Supervises, leads, role models and coordinates the activities of personnel engaged in providing excellent patient focused care supporting physician practices through the provision of integrated, effective, innovative nursing practices related medical services. Supervises daily staffing and productivity in assigned area/department. Assures appropriate staff assignments and schedules and seeks resources as needed.

- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. Associates or Diploma prepared nurses must complete a Bachelor of Arts or Science in Nursing within four years of hire.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice is required. A Registered Nurse with an AS DN degree must complete a BSN degree within four (4) years from the Registered Nurses date of hire unless the Registered Nurse has a minimum of fifteen(15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting. Failure to obtain a BSN degree within that time frame may result in suspension or termination of employment.
Any Registered Nurse who takes legally protected leave during the Four (4) year completion period may have the period extended by a comparable amount of time. Registered Nurses employed by St Vincent, Good Samaritan, St Joseph, or Lutheran Medical Centers as of September 1, 2014 with only an AS DN will be exempt from this requirement. Registered Nurses employed by Holy Rosary, Platte Valley, St Marys, Home Health, and TSFP as of December 31, 2017 with only an AS DN will be exempt from this requirement. - Three years RN nursing experience required.
- Bachelor's degree of Nursing is preferred.
- Certification as appropriate for unit or service is preferred.
