Job Description
This Position is Contingent on Contract Award.
This position will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. The person in this position will represent International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. and provide services outlined below:
International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. is looking for an individual who is an experienced Registered Nurse Occupational Health to care for VA members and their families. The Occupational Health Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing and performing employment related health screening. This Registered Nurse works as part of the medical team to protect and promote the health of the working population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive health assessments of employees, including physical exams and health screenings specific to workplace exposures.
- Providing education and training to employees about occupational health risks, preventive measures, and healthy lifestyle practices.
- Collaborating with safety officers to identify workplace hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Assessing and managing work-related injuries, conducting follow-ups, and coordinating care with other healthcare providers.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of occupational health policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implementing and participating in health surveillance programs to monitor the health of employees exposed to hazardous materials or environments.
- Preparing for and responding to workplace emergencies, including providing first aid and coordinating emergency medical services.
- Managing cases of occupational illness or injury, including liaising with insurance providers and returning employees to work safely.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential health records in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Acting as an advocate for employees' health and well-being within the workplace.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
- Must possess at least two years of direct patient care experience within the past three years.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must have graduated from an approved school of professional nursing.
- Current and unrestricted license to practice nursing in any US state or territory.
- Occupational Health Nurse Certification preferred; not required.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
- Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.
Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
Compensation:
Min $45/hr Max $50/hr
