Veterinary Assistant Instructor (CVT) (Substitute)
Instruct and implement the Veterinary Assistant program to educate students in accordance with the curriculum standards and objectives.
Employment Type: Substitute (Flexible, As-Needed Schedule)
Compensation: $23.73–$29.66/hour + CO Paid Sick Leave + Public Health Emergency Leave
Reports To: Veterinary Technician Program Director
About the RoleJoin our team as a Substitute Veterinary Assistant Instructor and help shape the next generation of veterinary professionals! This role offers a flexible schedule—ideal for experienced veterinary technicians or educators seeking part-time work. You’ll deliver engaging lessons, mentor students, and ensure they meet program standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeach the Veterinary Assistant program using curriculum-aligned lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles.
Evaluate and provide feedback on student work within 72 hours.
Collaborate with admissions, career services, and externship partners to support student success.
Address academic/behavioral concerns promptly and escalate to the Veterinary Technician Program Director as needed.
Maintain office hours, attend faculty meetings, and participate in professional development.
Enforce safety protocols for students, staff, and visitors.
Expertise in veterinary assisting/technology.
Ability to create dynamic, inclusive learning environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and educational technology

Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program (or equivalent 4+ years’ experience
).3+ years’ practical experience as a veterinary assistant, technician, or veterinarian.
Strong communication skills (verbal/written).
3+ years of teaching experience in veterinary sciences.
Current DVM, CVT, or RVT license/certification (or state-equivalent).
