About the Role
At Call Your Mother we believe that great food is made even better with amazing service and having fun together. CYM is a neighborhood bagel shop and deli with locations in the DC area and Denver, CO. We’re looking for new team members with positive attitudes and an eagerness to learn who are excited about good food and GOOD VIBES. We are hiring a General Manager in Denver!
As a GM at CYM, you will serve as the CEO of your shop, overseeing kitchen operations, front‑of‑house service, team development, and overall shop profitability.
- Oversee daily operations of the shop—from opening preparations to service execution and closing—maintaining the highest level of performance.
- Proactively solve problems that arise at the shop and take initiative to keep the shop running at its best capacity.
- Manage and lead supervisors and team members to ensure guests receive service that reflects CYM VIBES.
- Work with supervisors to create a positive, efficient work environment for the whole team.
- Support Call Your Mother’s high operational standards by continuing to hold yourself and your team to the provided checklists, recipe specifications, and other standardized tools.
- Maintain equipment and shop surroundings—trash pickups, linens, deep cleaning, storage organization.
- Continue focusing on all Serve Safe food‑safety standards and shop safety.
- Oversee food and beverage management, including inventory, ordering, and budget with regard to food, beverage, and labor goals.
- Recruit, hire, train, and conduct performance evaluations of team members.
- Schedule shifts and cover positions, ensuring coverage during callouts or emergencies; be on‑call when necessary.
- Work in the shop five days a week and be available to work weekends.
- Have transportation to travel between multiple CYM locations in the DMV.

- 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant management role.
- Strong understanding of P&L, COGS, decision making, process improvement, labor/scheduling, training & team development, and food quality standards.
- Serve Safe Manager’s Food Safety Certification.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks such as food and labor costs while maintaining operational standards.
- Hospitality‑oriented with a passion for guest experience.
- Hands‑on management style and a willingness to lead by example.
- Initiative, proactive, and capable of thinking in the big picture.
- High‑energy, positive can‑do attitude thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
