Cook III - Embassy Suites Denver Downtown
Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown and Convention Center is a modern Silver LEED‑certified hotel located within walking distance of downtown Denver’s attractions.
We are looking for a dedicated Cook III to prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
- Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to over‑prepare.
- Date all food containers and rotate as per SOP, keeping perishables at proper temperatures.
- Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up.
- Note any out‑of‑stock items or possible shortages.
- Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
- Return unused food items to designed storage areas, covering/dating perishables.
- Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct food cost problems; control food waste, loss and usage per SOP.
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- Minimum one year food service or related work.
- Knowledge of cooking and kitchen practices and procedures to perform non‑repetitive analytical work.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying up to 70 lbs (about 75% of the time).
- Periodic climbing required.
- Bending of the knees up to 5‑10 times a day.
- Full mobility, travel 30‑50 feet regularly.
- Continuous standing during preparation, service or expediting.
- Must hear equipment timers and communicate with staff.
- Must see that product is prepared appropriately.
- Must follow verbal and written instructions.
- Inside 100% of shift; temperatures inside up to 100°F, freezer
-10°F.
