Non‑Exempt | Full‑Time

Schedule:

General hours of work are 8am to 5:30pm on assigned days. Assigned days are dependent on store needs and weekend availability is a requirement. Participation in monthly all‑staff meetings is a requirement. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

Starting Hourly Rate: $18.00/hour

As the Retail Operations Lead, you play a key role in ensuring the efficient and successful operation of Butterfly Pavilion’s Gift Shop. This position is responsible for managing product receiving and organization while supporting front‑of‑house retail operations and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Primary responsibilities include receiving, tagging, organizing and transporting merchandise delivered to Butterfly Pavilion’s offsite warehouse in Broomfield, CO. In addition, the Retail Operations Lead supports the shop floor at our Westminster, CO location as needed and develops proficiency in lead and sales associate duties.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance behind‑the‑scenes operations with guest‑facing responsibilities. On the sales floor, the Retail Operations Lead helps create welcoming, memorable guest experiences, supports sales goals, and encourages repeat visitation through knowledgeable and engaging customer service.

The Retail Operations Lead is expected to maintain a working understanding of Butterfly Pavilion’s mission and programs, including education, research, and conservation efforts and to confidently connect those initiatives to the guest’s retail experience.

• Retail Sales Floor Operations:
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of the retail POS system and all store products, and confidently share that knowledge with staff and volunteers.
  • Ensure every guest has a positive experience in the Gift Shop by offering a warm welcome, providing assistance as needed, and thanking guests as they depart.
  • Support and help coordinate merchandising, sales initiatives, and day‑to‑day retail activities to meet operational and revenue goals.
• Opening/Closing:
  • Open and close registers, the Gift Shop, and/or the facility as assigned, following established procedures and security standards.
• Warehouse Operations and Leadership:
