Our client is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of high purity and corrosion resistant equipment, systems, and services. Their products and services provide proven solutions for many industries, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, microelectronics, metal finishing, and chemical processing.
The Account Manager is responsible for handling outside sales duties for our client’s manufactured products group while increasing sales and profitability. This role must represent the company to clients in a diligent and professional manner in order to maintain and grow sales. The territory for this position is west of Denver, the southwest US.
Responsibilities- Securing sales and maximizing profit for manufactured systems projects.
- Supporting individual projects ranging from $100 to $1 million, with sales cycles ranging from 1 day to 5 years.
- Tracking and securing projects from inception to closure.
- Negotiating final sale price and payment terms for projects to maximize company profitability and achieve sales performance goals.
- Developing and executing annual sales plans, continually evaluating changes in the market and adjusting activities and sales plans as warranted.
- Developing relationships and scheduling and executing meetings with engineering firms, contractors, and end users.
- Full-scope sales responsibilities include traveling to and meeting with clients to determine client needs, gathering project details, writing RFQs to send to the design engineering team, presenting proposals, following up and answering questions, and securing orders.
- Being responsible for business development in their specified coverage area.
- Entertaining clients (golf, dinners, lunches) to build strong bonds resulting in company loyalty.
- Developing marketing strategies and assets to convey the company’s capabilities and core competencies to new and existing client base.
- Scheduling and executing lunch and learns for engineering clients to become their basis of design for future projects.
- Scheduling and marketing educational webinars for the engineering client base.
- Developing a travel strategy annually to maximize the company’s global reach.
- Evaluating, requesting participation, and exhibiting at trade shows.
- Securing and scheduling speaking opportunities at industry events for design engineers. Researching new project opportunities.
- Providing market feedback to management as well as sharing sales experience with colleagues.
- Resolving customer complaints on timing deliverables (proposals, submittals, or equipment delivery).
- Preparing for and attending sales meetings.
- Using CRM packages to promote sales efforts.
- Maintaining all paperwork (expense reports, PTO requests, etc.).
- Collaborating with the technical support team to provide customers with product information, demonstrations, and technical support as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 2-5 years of experience in outside sales.
- Proven experience in all aspects of sales (including projects, sales cycles, sales plans, etc.) and sales techniques.
- General familiarity with manufactured systems design/componentry.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), CRM software
- Familiarity with BRM and CRM practices along with the ability to build productive business professional relationships.
- Highly motivated and target-driven with a proven track record in sales.
- Dedicated self-starter with an interest to grow expanded region of sales.
- Excellent selling, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Prioritizing, time management, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Relationship building.
- Team-oriented.
- Ability to close deals on a timely basis.
The salary for this position is $100 - $130K or commensurate with experience, plus bonus, and full benefits. Anticipated annual earnings $200-300K.
