Responsibilities and Impact

As a Sales Specialist within our dynamic Financial Institutions team, you will play a critical role in business development and client engagement across the Investment Management and Alternative Asset Management segments.

Your product suite includes Market Intelligence’s flagship desktop platform – Capital IQ Pro which integrates several industry renown data-sets including SNL Financial, Capital IQ, and Visible Alpha. You will also be responsible to lead sales efforts around data-feeds and data-automation/AI which S&P is heavily vested in and continuing to build upon.

You will lever both strategic sales techniques and cutting‑edge sales technology tools like Sales Loft to drive growth and client success.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing strategic business development initiatives to attract new clients within the Financial Institutions space with a focus on Investment Management and Alternative Asset Management.
  • Utilizing commercial technology tools like Sales Loft to streamline outreach, track client engagement, and optimize sales processes.
  • Expanding our Data & Research product reach within the existing MI client portfolio, leveraging both traditional and innovative sales strategies.
  • Identifying upsell and cross‑sell opportunities within each segment of your portfolio using analytical tools and market intelligence.
  • Championing extensive product usage within each account, ensuring clients fully leverage our solutions for maximum benefit.
Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,817 to $94,976. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for a sales commission plan.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experienced in consultative sales and/or account management within the Financial Institutions sector, with a proven track record in business development.
  • Proficient in the use of commercial technology tools like Sales Loft for sales engagement, pipeline management, and performance analytics.
  • Excellent communicators with the ability to effectively engage diverse client segments in the Financial Institutions sector.
  • Strategic thinkers who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining focus and effectiveness under pressure.
  • Confident in liaising with senior stakeholders and decision‑makers across various segments of Financial Institutions.
  • Curious and innovative, constantly seeking new methods and technologies to improve sales processes and client engagement.
