Business Development Manager

Job Description

This is not your everyday sales job. Due to our focus on training and education, we want you to develop a strong relationship with a core group of industry representatives. Many of these people will be senior level and you will be the voice of our company.

What you’ll do every day:

• Identify qualified prospective clients and develop loyal customer relationships
• Make effective telephone presentations to prospective clients, clearly communicating the competitive advantage that attending our conferences will bring to their businesses
• Maintain professional standards in marketing, sales & customer service
• Research to understand the issues driving the energy industry, and communicate them to senior executives
• Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to pitching to closing

• 1-3 years of work experience or the equivalent in marketing or experience marketing B2B conferences or events
• Self‑starter who doesn't give up
• A strong communicator, both written and verbal
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to perform at a high level in a fast‑paced environment
• Internet and social media savvy
• Excellent telephone skills
• Domestic travel 2‑3 times per year
