Job Description
Individual needed for general laboratory work in mineral processing laboratory. Experience desired in use of Atomic Adsorption, ICP OES and ICP MS analytical instruments. Fire assay experience also desired, but can be trained. Must be knowledgeable in standard laboratory operating procedures, QA / QC, and safety. Degree in chemistry or geology preferred but not mandatory for equivalent work experience.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and dependable Laboratory Technician to support our analytical and process laboratory activities. The ideal candidate will perform general laboratory work, operate analytical instruments, in a mineral testing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct general laboratory duties in the mineral processing and analytical lab.
- Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation, including Atomic Absorption (AA), ICP-OES, ICP-MS.
- Perform sample preparation and assist with fire assay procedures (training provided if needed).
- Follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs), QA / QC protocols, and safety practices.
- Accurately record, process, and report analytical data.
- Support routine lab maintenance.
- Assist with additional analytical methods as needed.
- Experience with AA, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS instrumentation preferred.
- Fire assay experience a plus—training available for candidates without prior experience.
- Familiarity with standard laboratory quality assurance / control and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Degree in Chemistry, Geology, or related scientific discipline preferred, but relevant laboratory experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
