Part‑Time Night and Weekend Security
Reports ToDirector of Facilities
Position SummaryThis Part‑Time Night and Weekend Security position protects the assets and personnel of Lamar Community College. The Security Officer ensures that all property is secured and that staff, students, and visitors are safe during scheduled shifts. The Officer upholds and enforces LCC and Colorado Community College System policies and all local, state, and federal laws, including FERPA and mandatory reporting of suspected illegal activity.
Responsibilities- Conduct building closures and foot patrols of interior and exterior of campus facilities.
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, safety hazards, medical situations, and calls for service.
- Contact emergency personnel when needed to protect individuals or campus property.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns such as lighting outages, unsecured doors, and facility hazards to Supervisor.
- Write and submit clear, detailed, and timely incident reports to Supervisor.
- Assist with evening event security and crowd management.
- Provide wellness checks, escorts, and customer service support as requested.
- Enforce campus policies and procedures respectfully and consistently.
- Provide evening & weekend security needs for Todd‑Busch Hall, Powers House, & Main Street View.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a security position.
- Current Colorado Driver’s License.
- Walk/stand for extended periods.
- Lift 25‑50 lbs occasionally.
- Respond quickly to emergencies.
- Write incident reports accurately and professionally.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Prior experience in campus safety, security, military, corrections, or law enforcement.
- Experience with behavioral intervention or crisis response.
Tuesday‑Friday 9:00 pm – 1:00 am;
Saturday‑Sunday 8:00 pm – 1:00 am
This position is not eligible for Colorado PERA and is a non‑benefit‑eligible role. Employees earn sick leave at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked.

- Direct deposit of payroll is a condition of employment.
- Final candidate is subject to a criminal background check prior to final selection process.
- Final candidate is required to submit official transcripts to Human Resources within fourteen (14) days of hire.
- LCC is affiliated with the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) and as such, employees contribute to PERA in lieu of Social Security for retirement benefits.
- Former employees of the Colorado Community College System or one of its 13 colleges, who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination, must disclose this information in your application material.
