Armed Security Officer - Transit

We’re seeking highly dependable and professional Armed Transit Security Officers to protect the RTD transit system across the Denver metro area. In this role, you will play a vital part in safeguarding passengers, employees, and property throughout bus routes, light rail stations, and major transit hubs.

Pay Rate: $28.15 per hour

Schedule: Overnight & Weekend Focus

Location: Denver

Qualifications: Prior Law Enforcement, Military (Honorable Discharge), or Corrections experience. These may be substituted with 7 years of unarmed security experience, 3 years of armed security experience, or 60 college credit units.

Success in this role requires the ability to remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively, and respond quickly to emerging situations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills, reliable attendance, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site‑specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry specific security/safety training programs
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
