POSITION TITLE: PART-TIME NIGHT AND WEEKEND SECURITY
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking an energetic, highly organized, dynamic professional to join our LCC Team. Our institution provides the highest quality education and service excellence in an environment of care, support, mutual respect, and integrity. Our Part Time Evening and Weekend Security will protect and secure the assets of Institution. Ensuring that all property is protected and secured and is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of all staff, students, and visitors on campus during scheduled shift.
As an employee of, and the Colorado Community College System, this position is required to uphold and enforce the policies of LCC and CCCS, and all local, state and federal laws. This position will comply with all student privacy laws (FERPA); and is a mandatory reporter of any suspected illegal activity.
- Conduct building closures of campus facilities including foot patrols of interior and exterior of buildings.
- Respond to emergencies, disturbances, safety hazards, medical situations, and calls for service.
- Contact emergency personnel (law enforcement, fire, EMS) when needed to protect individuals or campus property.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns such as lighting outages, unsecured doors, and facility hazards to Supervisor.
- Write and submit clear, detailed, and timely incident reports to Supervisor.
- Assist with evening event security and crowd management.
- Provide wellness checks, escorts, and customer service support as requested.
- Enforce campus policies and procedures respectfully and consistently.
- Provide evening & weekend Security needs for Todd-Burch Hall, Powers House, & Main Street View.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a security position.
- Current Colorado Driver’s License.
- Walk/stand for extended periods
- Lift 25-50 lbs occasionally
- Respond quickly to emergencies.
- Write incident reports accurately and professionally.
- Pass a Criminal background check.
- Prior experience in campus safety, security, military, corrections, or law enforcement.
- Experience with behavioral intervention or crisis response.
HOURS: Tuesday-Friday 9:00 pm - 1:00 am | Saturday-Sunday 8:00 pm - 1:00 am
This position is not eligible for Colorado PERA. It is designated as a non-benefit-eligible role and is subject to all provisions outlined for that classification within the Colorado Community College System. Employees in this position earn sick leave at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours worked.
