The Welder Machinist is a highly skilled and valued part of the maintenance team. The Welder Machinist is a critical role to our operations and is someone who is fluent in Carbon Arc Welding, as well as heavy equipment repair. The Welder Machinist has a strong background on the various welding procedures/techniques and is well versed on reading and interpreting blueprint and manufacturer specifications.
TOTALCOMPENSATION
$32.40 to $45.38 per hour, overtime potential, plus a $2,000 signing bonus staggered over the first year of continuous employment and up to $2,000 in tool reimbursement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform welding fabrication repairs for heavy Caterpillar, Komatsu and John Deere construction equipment, trucks, etc., with a high degree of precision.
- Proficiency in Arc, MIG/MAG, Carbon Arc and Oxy Acetylene tools
- Assist mechanics in the shop with other repairs as needed.
- Operate shop equipment and forklift as needed.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Reading primary email on a regular basis for any communication from the company, as this is the company’s primary mode of communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required
:
- Extensive knowledge of various welding procedures, including Air Carbon Arc Cutting, Shielded Metal Arc, MIG, Plasma Arc Welding, and Flux-cored Arc Welding.
- Highly skilled in repairing heavy equipment, including scrapers, excavators, buckets, and components.
- Significant ability to follow instructions, prioritize effectively, work independently, manage time, multitask, and handle stress.
- Broad understanding of metal types, range of thickness, and applicable welding practices.
- Familiarity with uses of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools.
- Dependability, reliability, honesty, and trainability.
- Ability to comply with all safety rules and procedures.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, work independently, manage time, multitask, and handle stress.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with vendors, and employees.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts as needed.
- Positivity and team player attitude, with a desire to learn new tasks.
- Ability to pass pre- and post-employment drug screening and work history verification.
- Consistent access to a reliable personal email account.
This position requires the ability to communicate in English with co-workers and vendors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSThis job requires the ability to understand and perform mathematical equations to achieve precise metal cuts and welding repairs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSPrimary functions require the physical ability and mobility to stand, sit, or lie down for extended periods of time and repeatedly work overhead, kneel, crawl, push, pull, bend, twist, and climb equipment as required by task. Manual dexterity and visual acuity to identify and manipulate small components. Keen sense of smell and hearing to identify unseen problems with equipment or fluids.
Ability to frequently lift 25 to 50 pounds.
Primarily indoor work in a maintenance shop. Some outdoor work is required. Regularly exposed to hazards such as noise, fumes, moving equipment, liquids and lubricants.
