The Inspection Technician Lead's duties include testing and inspection of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems and preventive maintenance with knowledge of multiple manufacturers’ products. This position requires someone who is self‑motivated, customer‑service oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills. The inspector will provide accurate and detailed inspection reports with all proper documentation of the existing equipment’s condition.
The pay range for this position is $25.00–$45.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities- Perform inspections, testing, installation, services and preventive maintenance of life safety and fire suppression equipment.
- Handle low‑voltage wiring and corresponding devices for the operation of low‑voltage equipment.
- Operate with minimal supervision while performing fire protection inspections and 24‑hour service.
- Inspect and service commercial fire sprinkler systems and associated equipment.
- Communicate daily with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator regarding inspections, project delays, requirements and status updates.
- Work with Project Manager, Schedule Coordinator and Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client (confirm work is completed so it can be billed in full).
- Train apprentices on company procedures, system inspection and report accuracy.
- Comply with all company safety standards and existing company policies.
- Willing to travel within the state of Colorado, as needed.
- Willing to work nights and weekends, as needed.
- Possesses NICET Level II or III certification.
- Possesses local jurisdiction licensing.
- Strong working knowledge of life safety and NFPA codes.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid driver’s license in accordance with company policy.
- Clean appearance and reliable transportation in accordance with company health and safety pocketbook.
- Required to pass drug screen, background check and reference check.
- Able to complete documentation as necessary, proficient in the use of iPads and programs as required by company.
- Capability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, AHJs and the general public.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Regular bending, reaching, climbing and walking.
