OverviewDenver Parks & Recreation is seeking a full-time Irrigation Construction Technician to support operations within Denver’s Water Conservation team. This position will be responsible for installing, renovating, and repairing irrigation systems for park properties, including optimizing irrigation systems to achieve the highest level of efficiency.
What We OfferThe City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $23.33 – $29.16/hour. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days.

Denver Parks and Recreation is seeking a full-time Irrigation Construction Technician to support operations within Water Conservation. To see a map of the parks within this district, please see here. The typical work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., but some weekend work will be required.

As a Water Conservation Irrigation Construction Technician, you will be responsible for installing, renovating, and repairing irrigation systems for park properties, including optimizing irrigation systems to achieve the highest level of efficiency.
Job duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform semi-skilled, unlicensed trades work in multiple areas including irrigation system installation, mechanical maintenance, tool machinery, equipment maintenance, minor electrical, minor plumbing, painting, etc.
Read irrigation drawings and perform construction, maintenance/repair, and replacement of complete parks irrigation systems
