Job Description

Great Opportunity for Outdoor Work and Freedom! Salary: $21.00 per hour. Our Arvada team is recruiting Underground Utility Locators in your area for a rewarding career!

Vannguard is currently seeking new team members with the right attitude in a drug‑free environment as we expand into the I‑70 corridor area. The Underground Utility Locator is a self‑motivated individual who enjoys working outdoors. The right candidate will be trained, committed to safety, comfortable working independently, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in completing a job well done.

Essential

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Drive a company vehicle directly from home to job sites in response to routine ticket requests, emergencies, and relocations.
  • Utilize provided mapping tools and location information, along with locating equipment, to find underground utilities including electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
  • Indicate utility locations through paint, flags, and communicate relevant information to excavation personnel or other authorities.
  • Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs according to the established rotation schedule.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude
  • Computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license in applicable state
  • Ability to work overtime when needed
  • Participation in Vannguard’s drug‑free workplace program and pre‑employment drug screening
  • Self‑management and timely communication with supervisors and clients
Physical Demands
  • Drive 50 to 300+ miles daily as required by the geographic area.
  • Get in and out of vehicle 50+ times a day.
  • Stand and walk lengthy distances (1+ mile) over uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
  • Sit for long periods while driving.
  • Lift or move 50 to 150 pounds.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Education

High school or equivalent (required).

License

Driver’s license (required).
