This position supports light commercial and residential plumbing systems across Public Safety facilities, including fire stations, Fire Headquarters, and police substations. Team members report to a central location and use a City vehicle to travel to assigned sites for scheduled maintenance, corrective repairs, and emergency service calls.

** Monday–Friday 7:30 am–3:30 pm

* Participation in snow duty removal is mandatory October-May, details will be discussed in interview## Who We Are & What You’ll DoThe Department of General Services, Facilities Management Division (FM) is responsible for facility maintenance and management, including preventative maintenance, work order processing and reporting, vendor management and capital planning.

FM works behind the scenes to ensure the city’s departments and agencies can function at their best.  The FM Division staff is responsible for providing a full range of building services including plumbing, heating/cooling, electrical, painting, and maintenance of doors, windows, walls, ceilings, and floors, among other services. Through seven teams, FM is responsible for maintaining over 8,000,000 million square feet of buildings and structures in over 140 city-owned and leased facilities, sites and structures.

** Plumber
* * to join Team B, supporting Public Safety Facilities. This role provides essential plumbing services for Denver Fire Department stations and Denver Police substations, which are occupied 24/7. We are seeking an individual who genuinely enjoys troubleshooting challenges across a wide range of environments. The person selected for this role will become part of a world‑class team that supports agencies and facilities throughout the City and County of Denver.
** Plumber I responsibilities include:
*** Performs preventative maintenance, maintenance and repair work on all plumbing systems and fixtures in accordance with agency or department standards and code requirements
* Installs or alters new or upgraded plumbing systems and fixtures for the purpose of construction, tenant finishing or remodeling according to diagram specifications and code requirements
* Responds to plumbing service or trouble calls, troubleshoots and provides problem resolution
* Performs plumbing camera scope work regularly to determine infrastructure needs
* Inspects, maintains and repairs various types of fire protection systems
* Maintains, tests, and installs devices for the prevention of backflow, back siphonage or cross connection
* Maintains records and prepares daily activity reports
* Estimates materials, labor and equipment costs
* Assists in the maintenance and repair work in a variety of skilled trades areas
* Participates in mandatory snow removal duties## ##
