Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Perform inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of vehicle braking systems
- Perform inspection, service, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of vehicle brakes
- Respond to service failures as required
- Utilize shop tools and test equipment such as wheel true machine, forklifts, table-lifts, hoists, cranes, power tools, specialized measuring tools, electronic test equipment, laptop computers and hand tools
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Ability to comply with all safety rules and instructions including the use of proper personal protective equipment
- Record completed inspections and repairs using the Maintenance Management System and other software tools; complete written reports as required
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution with the ability to comprehend, communicate and respond to instructions, orders, signs, notices, inquiries, etc. in English
- An Associate’s Degree or Accredited Secondary School Diploma and successful achievement of industry required licenses or certifications in Aviation Maintenance Technology, Automotive Maintenance or other Industrial Maintenance Technology program
OR
- Minimum 5 years’ experience maintaining and repairing electro‑mechanical systems and equipment preferably at a senior level. Heavy equipment mechanic or light rail Electrical Multiple Unit vehicle experience preferred
- Ability to comply with all safety rules and instructions including the use of proper personal protective equipment
- Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to read and interpret operating and maintenance manuals, schematics, prints and instructions typically used in the position
- Must be a strong mechanic with mid‑senior level experience.
- Not accepting entry level candidates
Requirements:
- Must pass a pre‑employment physical examination including a physical ability assessment related to the physical requirements of the essential functions of the position
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and successfully pass a background check
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and be willing to comply with the Drug and Alcohol Policy
