As a CBRE Mobile Engineer, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on building systems and equipment across multiple client locations throughout the Denver Metro area. This role focuses heavily on HVAC systems while also supporting electrical, plumbing, controls, and general maintenance needs. The Mobile Engineer will help ensure critical building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
This position is part of CBRE's Engineering and Technical Services function, which provides technical support, preventive maintenance, and repair services for facilities and critical building systems. The team plays a key role in maintaining operational reliability and delivering exceptional service to clients.
This is a mobile role supporting a variety of telecommunications facilities, administrative offices, cable stations, and work centers throughout the Denver market. The position includes on-call responsibilities and occasional emergency response outside normal business hours.
What You'll Do- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems across multiple client sites.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC equipment, which represents approximately 50% of the role's workload.
- Review assigned work orders, estimate materials and labor requirements, and maintain an adequate inventory of tools and supplies.
- Conduct routine inspections of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, controls/BMS, and life safety systems, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Respond to service requests, emergencies, and after-hours issues as needed to maintain facility operations.
- Support building automation and control systems while monitoring equipment performance and environmental conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety procedures, building codes, company policies, and client requirements.
- Operate company-issued vehicles to travel between assigned sites throughout the Denver Metro area.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and recommendations using company systems and processes.
- Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve operational issues and improve equipment reliability.
- Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with team members while promoting a culture of safety, service, and operational excellence.
- Lead by example and demonstrate behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values.
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of related experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Universal EPA/CFC Certification required.
- Valid driver's license required with the ability to travel between multiple work locations.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC, facilities maintenance, or related building engineering experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Experience working with building automation systems (BMS) and controls preferred.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in commercial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple locations.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including walking, climbing ladders, stooping, bending, and standing for extended periods.
