Sr. Mobile Software Engineer

Overview

As a key contributor to App Folio's mobile team, you will work with engineers to build and maintain mobile apps for property managers, tenants, vendors, and other real estate-related customers. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and designers to improve mobile apps while keeping them robust and maintainable.

• Mobile Platform:
  Develop and maintain robust React Native experiences; support iOS and Android apps for App Folio Property Manager and Tenant Portal; keep platform modern with up-to-date dependencies; ensure app store compliance; document platform usage to enable easy learning by other developers; ensure forward/backward compatibility work is handled by the platform team.
• Mobile Experiences:
  Support integration-heavy features (Push Notifications, Offline Support, Platform Payments, etc.); lead with customer-focused experiences and practical internal developer experiences; own project planning, estimation, implementation, and maintenance; communicate and collaborate with external experience teams; educate others on mobile platform development; mentor on builds and testing; uphold commitments to customers, business, and peers.

• Must have: experience developing React-based applications for robust React Native experience; strong proficiency in native mobile development (Android Kotlin or iOS Swift); deep understanding of mobile app architectures; strong native APIs knowledge for iOS and Android platform features; proficiency with tools/frameworks such as React Native, Xcode, Android Studio, Graph
  
  QL, node.js; comfortable navigating large Ruby-on-Rails applications; commitment to test automation; ability to break large stories into smaller ones and iterate.

• Technical: 5+ years of relevant experience; ability to quickly orient into large codebases; excellent coding and design skills; practice test-driven development; willingness to pair program.
• Execution: quick decision-making with incomplete information; willingness to release minimal viable solutions; value/outcome oriented; ability to simplify problems; recognize and celebrate business wins.
• Communication: effective with teammates; works across PM, UX, QA, and SE; readiness for public speaking; engagement with open-source communities.
• Continuous Improvement: receptive to feedback; provides constructive feedback; committed to retrospection; mentors engineers to grow.
• Character: tenacious, problem-focused, positive under pressure.

The base salary range is $138,400-$173,000. The actual base salary is determined by factors including skills, education, and experience. Base pay is part of a Total Rewards package with additional benefits and bonuses/commissions as applicable. Regular full-time employees are eligible for benefits.
