Senior Software Developer- Coldfusion, Java

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer – Applications to join our systems development team. This role involves designing, coding, and maintaining scalable, efficient, and high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong programming expertise across multiple languages and frameworks, collaborate effectively within cross‑functional teams, and contribute to agile development cycles.

• Write efficient, maintainable, and scalable code in PHP, TUI, Moodle, Lucee Cold Fusion, Java, C++, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Diagnose and resolve software defects promptly and effectively.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and QA engineers in cross‑functional teams.
• Participate in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve code quality.
• Complete assigned tasks within agreed‑upon timelines while maintaining high standards.
• Actively contribute to sprint planning and deliver on commitments during agile cycles.
• Provide clear and concise documentation for code, APIs, and system designs.
• Follow coding standards, guidelines, and best practices consistently.
• Ensure applications perform well under various conditions and scale effectively.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in PHP, TUI, Moodle, Lucee Cold Fusion, Java, C++, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Strong understanding of coding standards, best practices, and software development lifecycle.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

• Experience developing and maintaining enterprise‑level applications.
• Familiarity with HRMSD or similar systems.

• This position is based in Denver/Lakewood, CO. Remote work is not indicated for this role.

• Must hold or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
