Lifeguarding Instructor

The University of Denver seeks motivated Lifeguard Instructors to begin January 2026. Instructors will deliver American Red Cross Blended Lifeguarding courses at the Daniel L. Ritchie Center and support campus safety.
Responsibilities- Prepare for and instruct Red Cross Blended Lifeguarding courses (AP-HSSAQU
402-BL-r.24, Lifeguarding-BL). - Instruct all classes in accordance with American Red Cross and University policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other Lifeguard Instructors on materials, scheduling, and program development.
- Willingness to learn and comply with facility‑specific health and safety procedures.
- Ability to sit, stand, speak, and swim for extended periods of time.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and professionally with faculty, staff, and patrons.
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor Certification, or willingness to obtain one.
- Previous lifeguard instructor training.
- Previous lifeguarding or aquatics experience.
Classes occur on weekends, once to twice a month:
- Friday – 5:00 pm‑8:30 pm
- Saturday – 8:30 am‑6:00 pm
- Sunday – 8:30 am‑6:00 pm

CompensationHourly range: $22.00 – $26.00. This range reflects a good‑faith estimate. Salary decisions consider qualifications, budget, internal equity, and market data.
