Position: CDL Class A Driver I-III

Position

The CDL A Truck Driver transports materials to or from jobsites and to fields throughout the state of Colorado as requested by customers. Drivers operate trucks with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) capacity exceeding 85,000 pounds. These drivers may drive on intercity and off-road project routes.

Total Compensation

$24.23 to $43.56 per hour, with overtime potential, plus a $2,000 signing bonus staggered over the first year of continuous employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with route dispatch to optimize fleet utilization and project deliveries
  • Proactively identify potential delivery and pick-up problems and alert relevant parties before they result in service issues
  • Accurately complete driving ticket documentation
  • Comply with all regulatory agency and company safety directives
  • Contact dispatcher to handle pick-up or delivery issues that may result in customer dissatisfaction or project delays
  • Obey all traffic laws and weight limits
  • Complete and file pre- and post-trip inspections and log items in a precise and timely manner
  • Report any and all accidents involving driver, company equipment, and/or private property
  • Check primary email regularly for communications from the company
Qualifications
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid Class A CDL and good motor vehicle record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass and maintain DOT safety-sensitive FMCSA requirements, including pre- and post-employment drug screening and DOT physical
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized, ability to work independently, and willingness to learn
  • Effective communication skills with customers, vendors, and employees
  • Ability to pass driving evaluation and work history verification
  • Experience driving in inclement weather and occasional mountain driving
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Consistent access to a reliable personal email account

Physical Demands

Primary duties involve sitting for extended periods while driving to be unloaded or loaded. The position requires the ability to kneel, crawl, push, pull, and climb to and from the tractor cabin or trailer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds intermittently and use a broom or shovel to clean trailers.

Work Environment

Driving most of the time, exposure to traffic and off-road conditions, with vibration and uneven surfaces. Outside work at times, with exposure to varying weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow).
