Position Summary

To be successful in this role, candidates must have proven experience in a lead position and must be computer savvy and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to triage and prioritize projects and deadlines.

Essential Job Functions
  • Support drivers with In-Cab ELD devices & Tablets. (Troubleshooting).
  • Comprehend Driver Schedules (communicating anomalies).
  • Manage Employee Callouts, Holiday Scheduling, & Recovery Processes.
  • Support Breakdown Response Time & Recovery.
  • Manage Breakdown Protocol of reporting and logging purchase order (P.O.) needs for fleet repairs.
  • Provide training and coaching for new hires and all employees.
  • Observe and report Property, Employee, Assets, & Cargo Safety & Security concerns.
  • Manage the process for Accidents, Injuries, Breakdowns, & Recovery and update appropriate departments in a timely manner until resolved.
  • Remain vigilant for regulatory compliance and report opportunities to improve compliance.
  • Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle.
  • Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
  • Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damage.
  • Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinations.
  • Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Communicate with dispatch as needed.
  • Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
  • Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.
  • Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
  • Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times.
  • Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
  • Track and report working hours.
  • Adhere to company rules and regulations.
  • Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions.
  • Comply with DOT regulations & always make safety a priority.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Valid Class A driver's license required.
  • 2+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving required.
  • 1-2+ years of dispatching experience required.
  • Clean driving record with no moving violations and pass background check and drug test.
  • Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer.
  • Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful.
  • Knowledge of DOT Regulation is required.
  • Proficient problem solver, independent, and adaptive to a fast-paced dynamic business environment.
  • Organizational skills to manage and work with multiple projects, tasks, and personnel.
  • Active listener with excellent communication skills.
  • Understands and speaks in English for both oral and written communications.
  • Fast learner and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
  • Strong work ethic with high personal standards for quality of work.
  • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
