Skilled Construction Laborer / Form Carpenter

About the Position

J. S. Haren Company is seeking skilled construction laborers and experienced form carpenters to join our team. This position is ideal for hardworking individuals with hands-on construction experience who take pride in their work and are committed to safety, quality, and getting the job done right.

Our projects include water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, concrete structures, and other heavy civil construction work. We are looking for dependable employees who can work as part of a crew, follow direction, and contribute to completing projects safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Build, set, and strip concrete forms for walls, slabs, foundations, and structural concrete.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, measurements, and layouts.
• Assist with rebar installation, concrete placement, finishing, and other concrete construction activities.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
• Assist with excavation, back filling, material handling, and general jobsite preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow project specifications, safety requirements, and instructions from supervisors.
• Work alongside foremen and other crew members to complete projects on schedule.
• Perform additional construction duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous construction experience required; concrete construction or form carpentry experience preferred.
• Experience building and setting concrete forms is a plus.
• Ability to read a tape measure and accurately take measurements.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction materials.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe jobsite.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
